2021 is declared the International Year of Peace and Trust to mobilise the efforts of the international community to achieve lasting peace, solidarity and harmony, the United Nations General Assembly voted.
The International Year of Peace and Trust will be a means of mobilising the efforts of the international community to promote peace and trust among nations, including on the basis of political dialogue, mutual understanding and cooperation, in order to achieve lasting peace, solidarity and harmony.
The jury for this seventh edition was composed of : Marc H. Choko, Professor Emeritus, École de design de l’UQAM and honorary member of the SDGQ; Anne-Marie Demers, Graphic Designer, McCord Museum; Élise Cropsal, DGA, Administrator of the SDGQ and Creative Director, LG2, Bryan-K. Lamonde, Creative Director and Associate – Principal and Catherine Lepage, Creative Director – Ping Pong Ping.
The exhibition
A total of 130 posters were submitted this year, of which more than 51% came from students at the École de design de l’UQAM. Fifteen (15) posters were selected to be displayed in the foyer of the McCord Museum in an exhibition running from March 10 to 28, 2021. The posters on display will then become part of the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec’s heritage collection.
